When we moved from Norway to Nelson, we got rid of most of what we owned to save on shipping costs. This meant that all of our furniture (except for a single chair) was left behind. We looked locally and found some nice hand-crafted tables but, the prices were a lot more than we wanted to spend. After two months of eating our meals standing in the kitchen, we knew that something had to give. So, we started looking for alternatives. In the end, we decided to purchase a Perota ‘cookie’ from Black Forest Wood Company in Calgary and make our own.
